Own-It

From June 2006 - June 2007 Nana Ocran programmed a series of events for Own-It, the free intellectual property advice service based at the University of the Arts. Sessions included seminars and panel discussions by specialist Intellectual Property lawyers and keynote industry speakers from the creative industries. The events took place at various London venues including cinemas, art galleries, cafés, corporate meeting rooms and university campuses. Collaborative partners included Channel 4, Film London, Cockpit Arts, Crisis Homeless Charity, The Association of Photographers, Autograph - Association of Black Photographers, London Design Festival, Design Council, British Phonographic Industry (BPI), Royal College of Art (RCA), UK Intellectual Property Office, National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (Nesta), Cultural Industries Development Agency (CIDA), Rich Mix, Airside, Create KX, BBC and Whitechapel Art Gallery.

Nana Ocran organised the filmed 'How Not to get Ripped Off' event, which is available on DVD to higher education institutions and business support agencies.
